Mary Bosenbecker- 8 years experience

My name is Mary Bosenbecker, and I am so honored to be at J.L. Mudd for my fourth year.  I graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and certification in Early Childhood Education as well as Middle School Social Studies and Language Arts.  I received my Master of Education in Elementary Education with Special Reading Certification from the University of Missouri St. Louis and continue to take classes to inspire and enlighten me.  I have been fortunate to teach students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, Sixth Grade Social Studies, and Reading, and this year will be my third year teaching First Grade.  In my life outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends, especially my niece and nephews.  I love being outside, reading, relaxing, and enjoying the sunshine.  I am blessed to call J.L. Mudd my second home and can’t wait to meet my First Graders.

Amanda Feldt- 5 years experience

Hi! My name is Amanda Feldt; although, you might formerly know me as Amanda LeGrand. I spent the beginning of summer finishing up wedding plans and married my wonderful husband, Stuart, at the end of June! This will be my sixth year of teaching at J.L. Mudd. I love every minute of every day with my first graders, and truly believe that this is where I am meant to be. I graduated from Saint Louis University in December 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and am currently working towards my Master’s Degree in Education, with an emphasis in Special Reading, at Lindenwood University. I am looking forward to another great year in first grade and making a lot of memories with my students. Amy Harshman- 17 years experience

Hello!  My name is Amy Harshman, and I am a new face at J.L. Mudd this year.  Previously, I spent 17 years teaching 4th and 5th graders at Dardenne Elementary School.  I am very excited to start my journey in 1st grade at J.L. Mudd.  I graduated from Maryville University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics.  In 2004, I received my Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis on Integrated Studies in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading.  I continue to take classes to further my education and fine-tune my abilities to be the best teacher I can be for your child and the other children at J.L. Mudd.  When I’m not fine-tuning my teaching abilities, I am working on my mommy skills!  This summer, my daughter, Emma, turned three and my son, Jacob, turned 1.  They are such fun and my husband, Jason, and I had a great time with them this summer going to the Zoo, playing at parks, and swimming in our pool.  I am so excited to meet you all and begin my journey as a Panther Cub this year.

Amanda Maceranka- 8 years experience This year begins my 9th year as a teacher.  I have taught pre-K (ages 3-5) for the last 8 years, and this will be my first year in First Grade.  I have my Bachelors of Education in Early and Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I grew up in the Fort Zumwalt School District my whole life.  I attended Progress South Elementary, South Middle School, and I graduated from Fort Zumwalt South High School.  At home I have my husband, Ryan,  son, Landon, who is 9 , and daughter, Karsyn, who is 3. We enjoy going to attractions around St. Louis (the Zoo is our favorite) as well as watching or going to St. Louis Cardinals and Blues game.  I am looking forward to a great year of learning and fun in First Grade!!

Christine Nanney- 13 years experience

This will be my first year at J.L. Mudd.  I spent the last 13 years at Pheasant Point Elementary.  I have been teaching first grade for 12 years, and I taught second grade prior to that.  I currently live within the J.L. Mudd boundaries, and I am very excited to work with the kiddos in my own neighborhood.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Lindenwood University.  I have two beautiful daughters and a loving husband that I met in the Ft Zumwalt North High School marching band.  (Go Panthers!)  When I am not at school I enjoy Cardinals baseball, reading, listening to music, spending time with my family and learning to be a dance Mom.  I can’t wait to get to know all of my new families and watch my students learn and grow this year.

Renee Rhode- 15 years experience

This is my sixteenth year teaching first grade at J. L. Mudd Elementary. There is no place I would rather be than teaching first grade! I have my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Northern Iowa and my Master's Degree from Lindenwood University. I am married and have one child. She attended school in the Fort Zumwalt School District. In my spare time, I love to read, watch movies, and spend time with my family. Meagan Tarrant- 1 year experience
