Tammy Byrnes- 23 years experience

My name is Tammy Byrnes, and I am so excited to make my change to J.L. Mudd this year.  I have been teaching Kindergarten for 23 years at Progress South Elementary School.  I actually taught part-time at J.L. Mudd during my second year of teaching.  I traveled from Progress South a.m. kindergarten to J.L. Mudd p.m. kindergarten. My passion has always been to teach kindergarten.  Kindergarten students are always energetic and full of personality.  When I’m not at school, I love hanging out with my daughter Shae (who is now 20).  We love to shop, watch movies, go to dinner, and play with our two little dogs.  I also have a lot of wonderful nieces and nephews that I get to hang out with a lot watching them play softball, cheer in competitions, and act in theater plays.

Kim Klump- 11 years experience

Hello! My name is Kim Klump, and I am so happy to return to Kindergarten at J. L . Mudd after 1 year of teaching first grade! Though my teaching career started at the intermediate level, after my 4th year of teaching, I voluntarily made (what I thought would be a temporary switch to Kindergarten) and absolutely fell in love! I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and I am certified in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have been married for 14 years and have 2 beautiful children, Kyle and Mia. In my spare time I like to go to the Zoo, work in my garden, play or read with my children, and play with our dogs. I also love Blues Hockey and Cardinals Baseball.

Sarah Macek- 4 years experience

My name is Sarah Macek, and I am so excited to be returning to J.L. Mudd this year!  I graduated from Fontbonne University in May 2013 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I graduated from Fontbonne University with my Master's in Autism Spectrum Disorders in May 2016.  I am also certified in Early Childhood Education.  I have always known that I wanted to become a teacher because I love to watch children grow and learn.  I will do whatever it takes to make my students feel successful and confident in themselves.  In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family.  I also enjoy reading, watching movies, and walking my dogs!

Katy March – 6 years experience

My name is Katy March, and I am looking forward to my fifth year at J.L. Mudd! I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten. What a dream come true! Prior to coming to Fort Zumwalt, I taught third

grade in St. Ann, Missouri. I graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2010 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's of Education Degree from Lindenwood University with an emphasis in Special Reading in December 2013. I live with my husband, our son Levi, and two kittens in St. Peters. When I am not teaching, I enjoy being outdoors, travelling, and spending time with my family.

Melissa Relic- 17  years experience

My name is Melissa Relic, and I am so excited to be returning to J.L. Mudd!  The past 12 years I have been at Progress South Elementary where I taught kindergarten for 11 years and first grade for 1 year. Before that, I taught kindergarten and first grade at J.L. Mudd (I was Ms. Medsker back then) and kindergarten at St. Patrick’s in Wentzville.  I graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2000, and I completed my Master of Arts in Education in 2009 from Lindenwood University.  I love teaching kindergarten and watching students learn and grow. My favorite time is when they have those 'ah-ha' moments; it is so fun to watch their face when they realize they have mastered something new!  Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our two year old son, JJ.  We love playing outside, going to the Zoo, and visiting the transportation museum.  I also love to shop, travel, read, and catch up on my favorite TV shows.  I am looking forward to an amazing year at JLM!

Paula Roberts- 17 years experience

J. L. Mudd Elementary is a great place to be! I am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten again this year. Each day is an exciting adventure with a class of enthusiastic learners.  I taught two years Early Childhood Special Education at United Services.  I taught nine years in first grade and six years in second grade here at J. L. Mudd Elementary.  I received my Doctorate Degree in Instructional Leadership from Lindenwood University in 2013.  I am married and have two children and one granddaughter. In my free time, I enjoy biking on the Katy Trail, reading, traveling, decorating, gardening, swimming, and walking.  It has been a pleasure to work with such a wonderful staff and influence the lives of children.
