Community Projects

The J.L. Mudd community excels in coming together to help others. At J.L. Mudd,  we take part in a variety of different community service projects. Some of the projects are planned, while others may occur when we know there is a need. For example, when Hurricane Michael hit the United States, the community realized there was a need to help family pets that may be displaced from their owners. The J.L. Mudd community held a pet supply drive that was donated directly to those effected by the hurricane through the Humane Society. Planned community service events include our "Cold Hands, Warm Heart's" coat and mitten drive held in November. In February, we will "Spread the Love" and hold a canned food drive. The food collected will go to a food pantry close to us. Mrs. Guthrie is always a huge success by collecting for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart. We believe at J.L. Mudd, teaching our students to be leaders in the community is just as important as being leaders in school.
