Physical Education
Mission Statement

The mission statement of our physical education department is to promote lifelong learning through physical activity, exercise, fitness and sport while supporting students in making health conscious decisions, meeting challenges, and participating in mentally positive behaviors.  We believe that through a direct alignment, comprehensive and quality program, our students will develop into individuals who value physical activity and maintain physically active lifestyles, becoming proficient and competent in a variety of activities. Our students will demonstrate and develop physical literacy, personal responsibility, character, lifelong fitness, integrity and respect for others in the classroom, gymnasium, and in life.

I am so happy to be teaching Physical Education at J.L. Mudd Elementary. I have taught at J.L. Mudd Elementary for nineteen years and have truly enjoyed every moment. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University and my Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Lindenwood University. I moved to the St. Charles County area immediately following my student teaching in Central Illinois. My goal in teaching P.E. is to provide your child with lifelong goals pertaining to physical fitness while incorporating the 7 habits to become a LEADER. I want to help your child understand the components of physical fitness and exercise all while having fun! These days I enjoy spending my free time with my husband Adam, our handsome son, Connor, and our sweet puppy, Mercedes. Don't hesitate to call if you ever have any questions about your child.
