Inclement Weather Procedures

Fort Zumwalt has instituted a telephone broadcast system that will enable the District to notify all households and parents by phone within minutes in the event of a school closing. When initiated, this system is capable calling the number you list as home, which is the first number you want called, as well as the numbers listed as Parent #1 cell and Parent #2 cell. If you do not have a land line to your home, be sure to include the cell number you want called first in that field.

Caller ID—the Caller ID will display 636-272-6620, the number of the Ft. Zumwalt District’s main office.
Live Answers– If you answer live, there will be a short pause following your initial greeting and then the message will be played. If you miss any part of the message press 1 to hear the message repeated in its entirety.
Answer Machine/Voicemail– The system will leave a message on your answering machine or voicemail. The maximum number of rings before hang up is 5 rings. If your number is busy, the system will retry twice in 15 minute intervals after the initial call.
Early/Late Calls—Calls before 7:00 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m. will only be sent to your home phone.
 
It is important for you to keep your phone numbers updated with the school office. This will enable the district to have accurate information so that you are contacted in the event of a crisis, emergency or school closing situation.
